Five Uniquely Chicago Wedding Experiences
Though the world is my canvas as a destination wedding planner, Chicago is where I call home. As a major United States city, and popular wedding locale, today I’m sharing my top five uniquely Chicago wedding experiences. If you’re looking for something memorable and one-of-a-kind, I’ll offer some remarkable experiences and venues. Consider Chicago if you’re looking for a bit more of an ‘experience’ but who aren’t quite ready to head to more exotic locales.
Chicago Union Station
Sure, Chicago isn’t the only major city with a spectacular train station, but Chicago Union Station is still is a truly Chicago venue. Chicago Union Station was designed by famed architect Daniel Burnham (he also did The Flatiron Building in New York), and was constructed in the 1920’s. A magnificent building complete with beauty, grace, splendor, and history have made Union Station a popular site for major motion pictures, and could be the site of your nuptials. While the Great Hall is currently under renovation, one shouldn’t overlook the newly-renovated Burlington Room’s private event space, capable of seating over 200 guests. Chicago Union Station is also a great option even if you’re just looking to capture a unique wedding photography experience.
Chicago is known for its number of original sights—including the Shedd Aquarium, Millennium Park, and The Field Museum (all places you can hold your wedding!). One unique venue not to be overlooked is the Adler Planetarium. With panoramic views of both Lake Michigan and the city, couples can enjoy both the natural and man-made landscape for their big day. Both skyline terrace and solarium event spaces are available, making Adler ideal for any couple looking for a summer wedding with the best of both indoor and outdoor experiences. As one might expect in a planetarium, telescopes can be set up exclusively for wedding events. A couple can even explore adding a sky show, workshop, or astronomy presentation. For a couple that is truly out of this world, this venue is one not to miss!
Remember, a professional wedding planner can be instrumental in helping to ensure all your wedding details are met, even in securing unique top wedding experience venues. An experienced wedding planner can recommend ‘hidden gems’ to fit your wedding vision and find a unique wedding space for your remarkable celebration. Overall, a wedding planner can be sure your wedding reflects your wedding theme and exceeds your expectations!
